There’s some high-quality racing to enjoy on Saturday, and Tipstrr’s pundits have shown plenty of interest in a couple of likely contenders in the 2.40 race at York, a wide-open 13-runner handicap over the minimum five-furlong trip.

There’s been a swell of support at Tipstrr HQ for Venture Capital, a promising four-year-old who ended his juvenile season with back-to-back successes in 2023, and confirmed that promise with a couple of Class 3 wins at Ayr and Doncaster last summer.

He looked in need of the run when emerging from a five-month winter break at Pontefract in early April, and certainly looked better for it when winning stylishly on his next (and most recent) appearance at Ripon five weeks ago.

That performance caught the eye of the handicapper, who has nudged Venture Capital up five pounds to a career-high mark, but that burden should be offset by the significant booking of Ryan Moore, who arrives fresh from stringing together six wins and a close-up third from his last seven rides at the Curragh last weekend.

Elsewhere, and with four places widely available, Tipstrr’s each-way specialists have also gravitated towards Bond Chairman, who was available at 20/1+ when markets opened last night, and could still carry enough value to be worth an each-way play at around 11/1.

Making his first appearance after a six-month lay-off, this six-year-old makes his stable debut for new trainer Geoff Oldroyd, whose last four runners have yielded two winners at juicy odds of 28/1 and 10/1.

Jockey PJ McDonald has been in similar sparkling form recently, landing two wins and two runner-up spots from his last five rides, so trainer and jockey alike come into the race with high hopes of achieving similar success with Bond Chairman, who has won when fresh on season debut a couple of times in the past.

(BOND CHAIRMAN 11/1 each-way)
