James Buttler looks ahead to the sixth weekend of Premier League action and picks out the best bets with a treble.
After last weekend's Saturday 14/1 treble coming up trumps, let's try to back it up on Saturday afternoon.
Arsenal v Leicester City
There were more questions than answers after Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Man City last weekend. Did the dramatic 98th minute equaliser dent The Gunners confidence, or did the 10-man almost successful rearguard show they have what it takes in this season’s title race.
Arsenal remain unbeaten the three wins and two draws and host Leicester City on Saturday afternoon with another three points expected. They are unbeaten across their last 39 home league games against promoted sides (W34, D5) and Arteta’s team have won three of their last five Premier League games here ‘to nil’ while scoring at least twice (W4, D1). Against Leicester they’ve lost only once at home since 1973 (W22, D7).
The Foxes are yet to win since returning to the Premier League and fans are yet to embrace Steve Cooper’s new managerial reign. They did come through their Carabao Cup clash with League Two Walsall but had to rely on a penalty shootout after an uninspiring 0-0 after 90 minutes.
This should be a straightforward Arsenal win, but at 2/11 you’re not getting excited. I’m reluctant to go to town on goals as Over 2.5 hasn’t yet landed in either of Arsenal’s two home matches, so the pick is Kai Havertz to score anytime at 21/20. He’s found the net in both home matches and should get plenty of chances in a match Arsenal should dominate.
Chelsea v Brighton
It had to happen at some stage – Chelsea have started to show a points return for the squillions of pounds spent at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea beat Brighton three times across league and cup last season, but have only beaten them once in the Premier League in the last four home meetings.
Brighton are won 2 and drawn 3 so far to remain unbeaten in the Premier League, but have only won two of the last 15 Premier League away trips (D6, L7).
All of those stats don’t steer me to anything other than Both Teams To Score on Saturday at 8/15.
Everton v Crystal Palace
Both Everton and Palace are still seeking a first league win of the season, Everton have lost 8 points from winning positions.
Everton has lost only one of their last 19 matches against Palace (W9, D9) and with the news that The Friedkin Group - a US-based group that also owns Roma - has agreed a deal to take over the club, there may at last be some off-field stability for The Toffees.
This feels like a moment where Everton can gain that elusive first win and at a price of 9/5 they could boost the treble nicely.
James’ Premier League Tips
• Kai Havertz to score anytime at 21/20
• BTTS in Chelsea v Brighton at 8/15
• Everton to win at 9/5
This Satuday's treble worth 7.8/1.
Please always gamble responsibly.
