PREMIER LEAGUE PREVIEWJames Buttler

We came so close to landing a pretty big treble last weekend. Just fell short, let's go again and this time it's worth 14/1. I like this, gamble responsibly of course, but I do like this treble this week.

Aston Villa v Wolves

Newsflash, Aston Villa, they're pretty good and Unai Emery is one of the best managers around. Their 3-0 win over Young Boys on Tuesday in the first UEFA Champions League match since the 1980s will have galvanised the belief at Villa Park and they left Everton desolate last weekend with a 3-2 win, coming back from 2-0 down. Villa Park will be mourning the late Gary Shaw ahead of kick-off and the team will want to win for him as well.

Wolves came from a head to lose 2-1 to Newcastle last weekend and it's their worst four-game start to a Premier League season since returning to the top flight in 2018. They've drawn just one game so far, they've lost the other three and they really need to get their season into gear. The last four head-to-heads between the sides have seen under 2.5 match goals, but Villa's home matches tend to see goals scored.

James Buttler looks ahead to the fifth weekend of Premier League action and picks out the best bets with a treble.

Over 1.5 match goals has landed in each of the last 13 Villa Park Premier League games and over 3.5 match goals has landed in nine of those 13 games. Villa have conceded first in four of the last five home Premier League fixtures, so both teams to score is definitely an option in this one at 8/13. But for me and for the treble this weekend, I'm taking over 2.5 match goals and a Villa win at 23/20.

Liverpool v Bournemouth

Liverpool got bullied out of their 100% winning start by Forrest at Anfield and Arne Slot he will be keen to get his team back on track against the bees at Brentford. The Reds won 3-1 against AC Milan in midweek and now face a Bournemouth side that they've beaten in 10 of the last 11 head-to-heads, with an aggregate scoreline of 37-3.

Andoni Iraola's men are not in good form either and are there for the taking. Mo Salah can add to his nine Premier League goals against the bees. Liverpool, they will win this one, but I'm playing Salah to have at least one shot on target in each half at 5/4.

Tottenham v Brentford

Tottenham have had a poor start to their season. It's their worst since 2015-16, but manager Ange Postecoglou, he's declared, "I always win things in the second year", and he's usually good to his word. Brentford are yet to pick up points away from home, but they are a very tough side to predict. They can be very, very good.

Over 2.5 match goals has come in for 17 of Spurs' last 21 Premier League home matches, and that's available at 8-13. But, for the treble this weekend, I want a little bit more meat on the bone in terms of the price. Another way in is Brian Mbuemo to notch against Spurs for the third game running at 21/10 anytime. He's scored three in four Premier League matches so far and he looks good to add to that tally.

James Premier League Tips

  • Over 2.5 match goals and a Villa win at 23/20

  • Salah to have a shot on target in each half at 5/4

  • Mbuemo to notch against Spurs at 21/10

All of those prices are with William Hill, and if you put them together, it's a 14-1 treble.

Gamble responsibly, enjoy the football this weekend, and good luck with all of your bets.
