James Buttler looks ahead to the fourth weekend of Premier League action and picks out the best bets with a treble and a Bet Builder.
Manchester City v Brentford
Anyone looking to oppose Man City in the title race or seeking a different Golden Boot winner for betting value have a problem as both the team and star striker have started like a train. City have won their first three matches for the second season running and Erling Haaland, with his hattrick against West Ham became the first player in Premier League history to score 7 goals in the first three games of a season. Also, at least over 3.5 match goals has landed in the last five Man City Premier League home games, Both Teams To Score has landed in all five, and City have win the lot.
I’ve not mentioned Brentford, because the opposition rarely matters when City are at home.
So, let’s ride the Pep train whilst it’s still on time. Here’s a BetBuilder for you. City win, Haaland to score 2 or more, BTTS and over 3.5 match goals is 9/2. Change Haaland to another hattrick and the price rises to 11/1.
Haaland has scored 4 of his 7 goals this season before the 20th minute. Change the BetBuilder to Haaland as first goal scorer instead and the price is 15/2.
In terms of this weekend’s treble, Haaland 2 or more is the pick at 9/5 is the pick.
Liverpool v Nottingham Forest
Arne Slot la la la la la, has started with three wins and although Forest will be pleased with 5 points so far, their win came against a poor Southampton side. It’s tough to see beyond a home win, but the 2/9 on Liverpool isn’t enticing.
Liverpool have scored 2 or more goals in 10 of their last 12 Premier League Anfield outings. Liverpool over 1.5 goals against Forest is only 2/7 – these bookies know what they are doing. So, let’s go another goal scorer bet, with 3 in 3 Mo Salah priced at 3/4. That’s good enough for our treble.
Brighton v Ipswich Town
Brighton are great at the start of seasons and they’ve beaten Everton and Manchester Utd and gained a credible point at Arsenal to sit in 3rd place. Brighton have only lost once in 13 league matches against promoted sides (W5, D7) and they should win their first Premier League meeting against the Tractor Boys. Winless Ipswich have had a tough start with matches against Liverpool and Man City, but Brighton won’t be much easier. Brighton to score in both halves is EVS and they’ve done that in both of their wins this season.
James’ Premier League Tips
Haaland to score 2 or more is 9/5, Salah to score for Liverpool at 3/4, Brighton to score in both halves at EVS makes an 8.8/1 treble.
Man City win, Haaland to score 1st goal, BTTS and over 3.5 match goals is 15/2.
As always, please gamble responsibly.
