There's been plenty of drama over the last seven days in the fifth tier of English football. With midweek action happening as well.
It's going to be interesting to see if that has any impact on performance levels, especially for sites that are more used to playing Saturday to Saturday and having extra training sessions during midweek.
The first match I want to focus on is the game which has been picked for TV. AFC Fylde against Dorking wanderers. It's going to be shown on TNT Sports on Saturday with a 12pm kickoff.
The home form of AFC Fylde can best be described as hit and miss over the past few games. A really good win against Oldham Athletic followed by a disappointing result against York City, while Dorking Wanderers away form has been disappointing over the past few matches. I felt that this is a game where neither team will be gaining the win.
Both teams will be getting a goal though in this match, predicting that it's going to be a draw between AFC Fylde and Dorking Wanderers.
The next game I want to focus on is a game where plenty of passion will be on show as Wealdstone go up against Barnet. Now the last time these two sides met at Wealdstone, it was Barnet who gained all three points, but the two times we thought that Wealdstone have gained the victory, including the emphatic 5-1 win. And I think Wealdstone’s fans will make sure it's really difficult for Barnet, who know how much pressure is on them as they look to try and take advantage of any potential slip up by Chesterfield with the Spireites, now the clear favourites to gain automatic promotion to League Two via the National League. And I think this is going to be a really tough test for Barnet. And I think that Wealdstone will be leaving with a point.
The home form of Aldershot town has been really impressive over the past couple of months. At the moment, they have five wins in a row at home in all competitions, and also on a run of seven unbeaten at home as well. And I think that is a run that will be extended as they take on FC Halifax town.
The Shayman last time round away from home in the National League were defeated in a really disappointing result against Maidenhead United, and I think that they will be losing once again in this match.
And finally a game at the wrong end of the table as Oxford City go up against Kidderminster Harriers, both teams know just how important it will be for victory in this game, and I think it will be Kidderminster that gain all three points and what would give them a big boost in their quest to try to stay in the National League Division.
Both teams game promotion last season, and both have struggled so far this campaign so my predictions for this weekend are that AFC Fylde and Dorking wanderers will draw both teams to score I think Wealdstone and Barnet will also be a draw as well. I think Aldershot town will be extending their fine home form with a win against FC Halifax town and Kidderminster Harriers will beat Oxford City. Well, let's see what happens. There'll be plenty of drama in the National League.
