Morecambe v Notts County

I'm starting my treble with the best. Well, they were going into last weekend but after suffering a 1-0 home defeat to Gillingham, they're now fourth best in the league and they are away at the worst.

Notts County to win at Morecambe is my pick. After five straight 1-0 defeats to start the season, Morecambe have finally picked up a couple of points after recent 2-2 and 3-3 draws. They are still, however, extremely leaky at the back.

Gavin Puszczalowskyi is looking ahead to this weekends action in League Two.

They have not kept a clean sheet in 18 consecutive league games and they are now facing a smarting Notts County side who I've mentioned lost at home to Gillingham last week and dropped from top spot. County have scored six goals in their last two away games which is more than what Morecambe have scored all season in the league and they wallop Morecambe 5-0 last time these teams played.

So, I'm not just going for County to win which is odds on 10/11 in most places, that's okay, but I'm going for them to win and goals in the game. Both Teams To Score is a play but I'm going for Notts County to win and over 2.5 goals at 31/20 at Bet MGM.

Walsall v Colchester

Walsall are in fine form, currently three wins in four and they have rocketed up the table to sit third just one point off the top two and they are at home to a Colchester side whose last two away games were at the bottom two, Accrington and Morecambe. Colchester drew both. So, if Colchester fail to win either game of the current worst two sides in the league, I'm not giving them much hope at the current third best side in the division.

Like Notts County, Walsall are odds on everywhere to win but I'm going for goals in this one. Walsall have won their last two league games at home 2-1 and Colchester have scored in every single away game in the league so far this season. So, Walsall to win and BTTS at 3/1 again at Bet MGM is a play.

Gillingham v Barrow

And to complete the treble, I'm looking at the battle of the top two as Barrow make a very long trip south, twice in a few days after playing at Chelsea in the League Cup midweek to play away at Gillingham. I opposed Gillingham last week in what was then a top two clash as they travelled to Notts County and Gillingham won 1-0. Their away form is a bit stinky but their home form is absolutely rock solid. Four wins in five, 13 goals in those five games including late last season a 3-0 demolition job of this weekend's opponent Barrow.

Barrow are my story of the season so far. Their home form is also rock solid, away form not as much, a bit like Gillingham themselves but they have won their last two away games at Harrogate and Grimsby Town. Gillingham will be a completely different proposition altogether and after a week where the focus was all on Chelsea and Stamford Bridge, I think Barrow may struggle at Gillingham so I'm backing the home side to win this one at 8/5 at William Hill.

Gav's League Two picks

  • Notts County to win and over 2.5 goals at Morecambe at 31/20

  • Walsall and BTTS at home to Colchester at 3/1

  • Gillingham to win at home to Barrow at 8/5

That treble comes out at around 25/1.

Good luck with your bets and please always do gamble responsibly.
