It's Round 12 of the 2024 Formula 1 season and the high-octane circus moves to the home of Formula 1. Silverstone.

Gavin Puszczalowskyi looks at the runners and riders for this weekends British Grand Prix, picking out the best bets and looking for value across all markets.
I also appear to be a Max Verstappen jinx. I tipped him last week to win in Austria and he ended up finishing 5th, after a collision with rival, and good friend Lando Norris. It is going to be interesting to see how that friendship, now Norris is a genuine rivel, develops, or unravels, on and off the track.
The issue with F1 betting is Verstappen is odds on to qualify pole, 4/7, and to win the race 7/10. Which makes you look elsewhere for value, but you don’t find a great deal of it around.
One Verstappen bet you may consider is the GRAND SLAM. Qualify pole, win the race, and set the fastest lap of the race. He did it last year at Silverstone. It’s best price 5/1 if you fancy Max to do it again.
Lando is 11/4 to qualify pole. Always worth a pop. AT Silverstone last year, Verstappen qualified pole with a 1.26.7, Lando was 1.26.9, and they were the only 2 drivers on the grid to break into the 1.26’s, so 11/4, Lando to qualify pole is worth a look.
I am struggling to look beyond Verstappen to win the race. I cannot really look elsewhere. But, the one thing I will say is there is a 40% chance of rain for the race. Rain + a Formula 1 race = chaos. I’d keep your powder dry for now on picking a race winner.

So, I am exploring other markets.
To set the Fastest Lap is an interesting market. Of the last 5 Grand Prix’s, the fastest lap has been set by a British driver in 4 of them. George Russell, Lewis Hamilton twice and Lando Norris. Lando is 4/1 to set the fastest lap. Russell is 6’s and Hamilton is 7’s.
And if you want a bet based on pure form and current finishing positions, Alpine, driver by Gasly and Ocon have both finished in the points in 3 of the last 4 races. They are 15/2 to both finish in the Top 10 at Silverstone. That is worth a look.
Whatever your bets are for the British Grand Prix, please do gamble responsibly.
