Saturday’s Premier League with Paul Robinson
The former Leeds, Spurs and England keeper thinks his old side can go to Goodison in the early kick off and take all 3 points back to North London
Spurs love playing Everton, they've got a great record against them during the Premier League years and playing this Everton team - who have only had one win in the last 9 in all competitions. I thought they turned a big corner when they got the points back, when they went on that fantastic run. They overhauled their points deduction, but they're struggling to score goals again.
They did that at the start of the season. Sean Dyche made a big thing about the expected goals tally and all of a sudden after that the goals flowed - but they've dried up again. They had that 0-0 draw at Fulham, a game with 43 shots at goal! They had poor FA Cup ties against Palace and Luton, and a 0-0 with Villa. They really are struggling to score, whereas Tottenham, on the flip side of that, are in a club record all-time scoring record streak in the top flight. So there's two teams performing very differently in front of goal and Tottenham are in a really good place at the moment with Ange. They went back 4th in midweek with a good win against Brentford and they're looking to push on.
There’s a lot of value in Spurs at 11/8 away from home right now. Maddison is back in, Kulusevski, Richarlison back at Goodison, pick a scorer with a Spurs win. They're not very good at keeping clean sheets so there's always an option there, but I just said about Everton struggling to score, so there's that to remember as well.
