James Buttler looks ahead to Friday evening's Championship clash between the Potters and the Tigers and finds his best bets.
We had success in the match involving Hull City last weekend. They lost to Sheffield United 2-0 to to land us all four of the Friday night bets.
Hull City desperate to get a first win
Hull City are involved again and this time they're on the road to Stoke. It's going to be a tough task. Let's see if we can find a bit of betting value in this one because Hull have been 14 matches and five months, (0:33) including friendlies, since they last won a game of football.
The Tigers are now five Championship matches without a win and the new boss Tim Walter is under serious pressure. It's mounting on him after successive league defeats to Leeds United and Sheffield United. Hull finished in 7th place last season and there was a lot of optimism at the start of this campaign and they were certainly expecting a better start than they've had.
Stoke City and the new manager bounce
Hull travel to a Stoke City side that's had a much better beginning to their 2024-25 season.
Two wins so far but they sacked their head coach Stephen Schumacher after last Saturday's championship defeat at Oxford United. That defeat has them in 13th place in the Championship table.
On Tuesday former Crewe Alexandra boss Alex Morris teamed up with ex-Potters captain Ryan Shawcross to see them to a penalty shootout win over Fleetwood in the Carabao Cup.
They've now appointed Spanish manager Narcis Pelach who will be seeking a second home win for the Potters this season and a bit of a new manager bounce. It often happens when a new manager comes in and all of a sudden a little bit of a run ensues.
James' Championship Tips
So, let's have a look at how Stoke can win this one and where the best bets are.
Stoke 11/10 to win - let's start with that. It's a good enough price on the outrights
Stoke to win to nil has been enhanced with William Hill to 3/1
Under 2.5 match goals at 17/20 looks a play with neither side hot at the pointy end of their attack
This isn't going to be one where you rush home to watch this match on Friday night but it should be a win for Stoke City.
Good luck with all your bets. Enjoy the football and as always please gamble responsibly.
