Just a couple of Carabao Cup ties to look forward to, but can Coventry repeat their 1987 FA Cup heroics against Spurs? David Easson has tonight’s Carabao Cup Betting Preview
Coventry will always have the 1987 final – and last season’s FA Cup semi-final when they were robbed, ROBBED by a combination of Manchester United and factually correct decisions.
In the EFL cup they meet Spurs, stinging from yet another derby defeat. Spurs went out at this stage last season, throwing away another chance of a trophy at Fulham.
They should get past Coventry but the both teams to score comes in due to Spurs’ shaky away defensive record, with only 3 away clean sheets in 16 on the road.
Coventry have had a shaky start to the season but this might just spark Ellis Simms and co. Tottenham should still progress with Coventry not firing at all this season.
Spurs and both to score is 15/8
Ellis Simms is 15/4 any time
At Brighton it should be a simpler affair against Wolves, who need to start repeating last season’s heroics but don’t seem to be repeating the trick. The home side look strong and even with some shuffling of the team, at least they have the players to do so, unlike Wolves.
They did that in the last round when they beat Crawley 4-0. This is a tougher task but Wolves don’t look like scoring and the Brighton win to nil is the bet at 13/8
The 15/8 and 13/8 double is around 13/2
