Gavin Puszczalowskyi previews the League 2 games this Saturday and picks his best 3 bets.
I’m starting with Gillingham to beat Tranmere at home, they are 21/20 to do so. Gillingham away from home are a bit stinky, and they have only scored 2 in their 5 away games. At home, a different beast. They have won 3 of their last 4 and have scored 10 goals in those 4 games.
Tranmere’s away form, albeit 2 games so far this season, is actually pretty good, 4 points from 6, they did get a decent 0-0 draw at Port Vale but I think Gillingham will be too strong for them. With their away form being so rocky, if Gillingham are going to achieve automatic promotion, it will be largely based on their home form. This is a must win for the home side and I am backing them to do just that, with goals in the game.
Gillingham to win and both teams to score is 10/3 at Bet365
Clinical County
Bromley have taken to life in League 2 well after promotion from the National League, as many teams do when they come up, and they face a Notts County side who seem to have hit good form with David McGoldrick in fine goalscoring form. 12 goals in 37 appearances last season, 4 in his last 2 games this season. He’s 2/1 anytime to score and that is a play.
Unlike most teams in League 2, Notts County have played at Bromley quite a few times before when they faced each other in the 5th tier of English football. They know as a club what to expect at Bromley and even though they haven’t got the best of records at Hayes Lane, this is a County side full of confidence with 3 straight wins and they have scored over 1.5 goals in every league game so far this season.
Notts County, 6/4 at Bromley, I’m backing it.
Confident Crewe
And football is always, for me, about confidence, and what can be lacking after a poor start can soon be roaring through the team with a few wins and points on the board. And for me, that is Crewe. Poor start, got battered 5-0 at home by Chesterfield, but now, 2 wins back to back, 7 points from 9, and the footballing world is a much better world for Crewe, who travel to Accrington who are 23rd with 2 points, and thankful that Morecambe have played 4, lost 4.
Crewe are 2/1 to win this one, and I think that is too big.
I am tempted by the draw in this one. Accrington is still a tough place to go, and while they don’t win often at home recently, they suffer far more defeats on their travels, but I’m going to stick by a Crewe side who have the wind in their sails to pile on the misery for Accrington.
My picks for League 2 this weekend are Gillingham and both teams to score against Tranmere at 10/3. Notts County to win at Bromley at 6/4 and Crewe, 2/1 to win at Accrington.
That is a treble that comes in around 30/1
The very best of luck and please gamble responsibly.
