Is the Walsall wobble over? The best bets for the League 2 play-offs

Is the Walsall wobble finally over?

After 2 wins in 18 league games, they have now won their last 2 games including the first leg of this play-off semi-final against Chesterfield.

The issue is is this a true turn in form for Walsall or will they return to their below-average form they have shown for the last few months?

PREVIEW: Walsall v Chesterfield

Walsall have won none of their last 6 league games at home and have only won twice on their own patch in 2025. Obviously, Walsall are leading 2-0 after the first leg so a draw, or a 1-0 defeat, will see them through to Wembley.

Chesterfield were poor in the first leg and manager Paul Cook will be demanding so much more from his players, and he will probably get it.

Chesterfield have won 4 of their last 6 away games and only lost 1. They have nothing to lose and have to go for it. In a way, the pressure is on the home side. Do they defend what they have or go for finish Chesterfield off?

Walsall are 6/5 favs in most places to win and that is too short. We're tipping to Chesterfield at 11/5 at bet365 to win, but will it be a big enough victory to win the tie over-all? We shall see.

Enjoy the football, good luck with your best and please gamble responsibly.
