In what kind of crazy mixed-up world is this fixture the second biggest game of the weekend in England? But, here we are. Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElheney’s Wrexham against Tom Wagner and Tom Brady’s Birmingham City. Both unbeaten, both with one draw, but the away side have momentum and the home side have had the international break to deal with, alongside bedding in all their new players.

The Blues started off with a home draw against Reading where they didn’t look up to much at all. Wins over Wycombe and Leyton Orient and Wigan have followed but the form line isn’t great for us as all sit in the bottom 10 places and all 3 managed to score against Birmingham

The Blues look solid without being flashy – yet.

Talking of flashy, Wrexham have taken to life in League One like the proverbial ducks to the drink. They have only been disappointing in the 0-0 draw at Bolton – and form-wise that looks awful now, but it’s a good 6 hours since they last conceded a goal so maybe they’re even more solid that Birmingham, never mind flashy. They still haven’t conceded away but the stats suggest they really probably should have done but they look dangerous going forward. That’s Wrexham.

Both sides are averaging at around 5 shots on target per game and so both to score seems highly likely here. Wrexham have scored 11 in their five league games, while Blues have eight goals in their four. Both to score and over 2.5 goals in the game is 5/4.

The visitors have kept clean sheets in their last four league games and were 2-0 up at half-time in all four of their wins, against Wycombe, Reading, Peterborough and Shrewsbury.

Wrexham have scored eight first-half goals in five matches in League One this season – in fact they’ve been 2-0 up at half time in all 4 games! Birmingham's last three league matches have seen six first-half goals, and they were 2-0 down to Fulham inside 15 minutes in the EFL Cup. Over 1.5 goals in the first half is 7/4 while 2-0 Wrexham at half time is 25/1

Birmingham striker Alfie May leads the League One scoring charts and has scored in all four of his side’s games so far, and he’s got an assist as well. Back him to score any time at 6/4

Both to score and over 2.5 goals in the game is 5/4

Over 1.5 goals in the first half is 7/4

Alfie May any time scorer is 6/4

If you want a quick bet builder, Alfie May anytime scorer plus over 2.5 goals, both to score and Wrexham leading at half time is 16/1
