Betcave's "Bet Of The Day" for Saturday the 14th of December.
A cracking card to get stuck into, especially from Cheltenham, for this Super Saturday.
For this Betcave's "Bet Of The Day" in association with Platinum Racing, we are going to focus on the 2.25 at Cheltenham.
It's the Bet MGM Handicap Chase, it's over 2 miles, so in the last 13 running's of this race, all 13 runners that have won have actually run in the last six weeks, 10 of the last 13 winners have been 7 or older.
Let's kick-off with the favourite then, Liberty Hunter.
The booking of Harry Cobden looks like a sign of intent coming off the back of a 245 daybreak. Now the horse has actually won a 347 days off before.
Here's a course in distance winner, but I'm going to try and find us a little bit more value.
I'm willing to overlook him at the prices and moving down the pecking order we have Master Chewy, always seems to find a way not to win.
It's actually only won twice in his career from 18 runs, but he does have good Grade 1 form coming in at a next second last season and the yard obviously think a lot of him as they run him in the Tingle Creek the last day, where he fell.
It's interesting to see that Twiston-Davies are sending him out just seven days after that fall. So, you can only assume that the horse's world to come to Cheltenham here and run a week later.
But I just think carrying 12 stone against some decent handicappers is going to be difficult.
Triple Trader is a horse are like has one for us before he's only 1 from 9 over 2 miles. My selection, my lucky pin has dropped on Third Time Lucki. At the time of recording you can get 13/2 and Betfred are going three places each way.
There's only 6 runners and at 13/2 there is absolutely nothing wrong with going here each way, but I think he holds decent credentials to get a win.
The horse was pretty useful for Dan Skelton. Only just recently moved to Fergal O'Brien after having some injury issues. Has been off for about 18 months before a half decent return over course and distance when the horse finished 26 lengths behind Matata.
It isn't exactly amazing form to go on, but after 18 months being chucked in at the deep end at Cheltenham, it wasn't the worst effort.
The horse has to come out and take a little bit of a step forward but we have dropped 3 lbs in the weights. Third Time Lucki is now 1 lb below his last winning mark.
Horse has won twice over course and distance from 24 runs. He's actually won nine times in his career. When you look at the factors that the horse will light the ground, he's a course and distance winner, he's well handicapped, hopefully he can take a step forward.
He's had a little bit of time off to get over those exertions last day at Cheltenham and I find it interesting that they bring him back here over course and distance that he clearly thrives on and loves.
And Betfred for some reason given us three places in a 6 runner race. I think it's a really good each way bet for Super Saturday.
