Dave Tindall looks ahead to Sunday's Premier League action, including Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.
Manchester United v Tottenham
This is a tough match to call with both teams mixing moments of promise with frustrating inconsistency.
In theory, this should be a game for goals with both teams often playing fast and loose.
Only Man City and Liverpool have a higher goals xG than United this season so Erik ten Hag’s men are creating chances.
As are Spurs. It’s been a theme so far listening to Ange Postecoglou berating his side’s failure to put their chances away.
So we’re left with a dilemma. Both teams are showing enough going forward for this to finish 3-3 - a 33/1 shot by the way. Then again both teams are being wasteful enough to think that this could actually finish Under 2.5 goals which is pretty big at 19/10.
One thing we do know though is that Spurs have a terrible away record against top-half teams, shipping at over an average of two goals per game in those losses.
So, although many won’t have any trust in Manchester United, I think the hosts are the ones to be on.
United to win the game are 27/20 or you could back United to win and Both teams to Score at 13/5. That’s the play.
As for goalscorers, I’ll look to Marcus Rashford.
The United frontman seems to be finding his mojo again and the goals are starting to come.
He’s scored three times in his last six games against Tottenham and is worth a punt at 9/4 to score anytime. Also back him for first goalscorer at 8/1.
Ipswich v Aston Villa
Ipswich, after opening defeats to Liverpool and Manchester City, have got a foothold with draws against Fulham, Brighton and Southampton.
That seems pretty easy form to assess: Ipswich can be competitive but against the best teams they’re found out.
Villa are certainly in the category of Premier League heavyweights and have four wins out of five so far to continue the brilliant work Unai Emery did last season.
Jhon Duran has been in great form this season with five goals in seven matches so back the striker to score in a Villa win at a juicy 15/4 with bet365.
