League 2 Sunday Betting Preview

Gavin Puszczalowskyi

The games are coming thick and fast in League 2 over the New Year period and Gavin Puszczalowskyi looks at some quick-tips for the games on the 29th of December.

Bromley v Swindon

Let's start by backing a side at home who are in good form to a side who are out of form. Bromley at home to Swindon.

Bromley v Swindon Betting PreviewGavin Puszczalowskyi

Like most sides promoted from the National League to League 2, they carry on with the good form and have no fear of an immediate return to the league they have just escaped. Bromley are 12th and just 4 points from the play-offs. They've lost 2 of 17 league games, 1 defeat in 10 and have won 5 of their last 6.

Swindon are 20th, far close to the relegation zone and have lost 3 of their last 5 away games. I'm backing Bromley 21/20, at Betfair to win this one.

Carlisle v Accrington Stanley

The next selection is Carlisle at home to Accrington. We landed a 16/5 for Morecambe to win at Carlisle on Boxing Day and it's another crunch bottom-of-the-table clash for the home side and just like Boxing Day, I'm backing the away side.

Carlisle v Accrington PreviewGavin Puszczalowskyi

Carlisle have the second worst home form in all of the league and yet the bookies have them 6/5 favs to win. Not for me.

Carlisle have won 6 points from a possible 33 at home and while Accrington's away form is not brilliant, they have only lost 2 of their last 7 away games and they have scored 14 goals away from home this season, the same number as Port Vale who are 2nd in the league.

I'm backing Accrington to win, 23/10 at Betfred, but you can also have them on draw-no-bet at 11/8, also at Betfred.

Cheltenham v Notts County

My next tip is Cheltenham at home to Notts County. And this is a price play. The away side are favourites to win this game and I understand why. It's 7th away at 14th, but if you look at home v away form of the two sides, you will see why I fancy Cheltenham to win this one.

Cheltenham have 30 points this season, 21 of which have been won at home. They have the joint 2nd best home for in the division. Notts County have lost 3 of their last 4 away games. and have conceded 17 goals on their travels, significantly higher than the teams around them in the league.

I find the price on Cheltenham tempting, so I'm playing it. 11/5 at William Hill.
