Cardiff City v Sheffield United

CARDIFF v SHEFFIELD UTD PREVIEWJames Buttler

Cardiff come into Saturday afternoon’s match just one point above the relegation zone, whereas Sheffield Utd sit on top of the Championship table. The Bluebirds have no league win in seven games (D3, L4), whereas the Blades are unbeaten in 10 and five away from home.

This is chalk plays cheese. It would be a major shock if Chris Wilder’s visitors didn’t take all three points back up to Yorkshire. The temptation might be to back Cardiff to get thumped, but bear in mind that Sheffield Utd haven’t scored more than two goals in any match and backing them to win and Under 2.5 match goals has yielded plenty of success so far this season. If it ain’t broke we’ll take that bet, so the Betting Radio quick bet for this one is Sheffield Utd and Under 2.5 match goals at 7/2 with Betfair.

Leeds United v Oxford United

LEEDS UNITED v OXFORD UNITED PREVIEWJames Buttler

Leeds have notched the first goal in each of their last eight matches at Elland Road and have every chance of stretching that run against an Oxford side that are only one point above the drop zone. But Leeds to score first is a little skinny at 2/11, so we need to look elsewhere.

James Buttler looks ahead to Saturday's Championship action and picks out the best bets with a treble.

If you think Leeds score first, a scorer play gets better value, although with goals shared around the team, you’re basically throwing a dart at the starting XI.

Leeds have won eight straight home league fixtures and won six of those ‘to nil’. It’s not a bad I relish as one freak shot can scupper it and it’s not secure until the final whistle, but it stands up to scrutiny and is a decent enough 4/6 with Betfair.

Millwall v Blackburn Rovers

MILLWALL v BLACKBURN ROVERS PREVIEWJames Buttler

Blackburn have flown up to fifth in the Championship table off the back of six straight league wins and they visit a Millwall side against who they haven’t lost since July 2020, across eight matches at Championship level (W5, D3).

Add in that Millwall are having a desperate time with no win in six games, including three straight defeats without scoring themselves. Despite their bad run, they haven’t conceded more than one goal in a league game all season, and Blackburn haven’t been winning big, so this could be another low scorer.

That all points to a Blackburn win and under 2.5 match goals. The available price of 5/1 on that with Betfair seems a great price and is the Betting Radio quick bet as it represents superb value.

James’ Championship Treble

If you put those three selections into a treble is gets a price of 44/1 with Betfair.
