Portugal’s surprise defeat by Georgia in match 3 shouldn’t put anyone off here.

Slovenia will set themselves up to be hard to beat but coming out of the drabbest of drab groups with Denmark, Serbia and England – they won’t be ready for a test such as this.

For Roberto Martinez it’s about getting the right balance, line-up and formation but he’ll try most variations in 90 minutes and somehow find a way with the squad he has.

12 attempts in three matches but no goals for Cristiano Ronaldo, this is surely his time, but anyone who’s seen Slovenia so far will have to be impressed by Benjamin Sesko and he’s the main threat to Portugal in this one and might be worth an outside anytime scorer bet.

  • Portugal to win with Ronaldo scoring first is 5/2

  • Sesko to score anytime is 9/2

  • Portugal to win and both teams to score is 23/10
