FA Cup 4th Round – Thursday 25th January 2024 – Bournemouth v Swansea
I'm Simon Barlow and I'm looking ahead to Thursday's FA Cup fourth round tie between Bournemouth and Swansea.
Premier League Bournemouth are the heavy favourites at around 2/7, generally for this one the draw is available at 9/2 and don't forget there could be a replay while Swansea of the championship are 12/5.
Bournemouth the 12th in the Premier League table, they overcame championship QPR 3-2 in round three. They reached the quarterfinals of this competition in 2021,but haven't been beyond the fourth round in six of their last seven attempts.
Swansea 16th in the championship. They beat Morecambe 2-0, that's League 2 Morecambe 2-0l in the third round. Swansea have been beyond the fourth round though in three of their last six attempts and knocked Aston Villa out at the third round in 2019.
The last meeting between the sides was actually back in August in the EFL Cup second round when Bournemouth won 3-2 courtesy of a Ryan Christie stoppage time winner Michael Duff was in charge of Swansea that day. He's since been replaced by Luke. Williams, Marcos Senesi looks set to miss out once more for Bournemouth, as does Max Aarons, who went off with an injury in their recent 4-0 defeat to Liverpool defenders Josh Key and Ben Kabango, plus midfielders Liam Walsh and Sam Parker will miss out for Swansea and they'll be without their on loan Bournemouth forward Jamal Lowe, who's hit six goals this season.
The Cherries are unbeaten in their last twelve against Swansea, having won eight and drawn 4. And winning the last five at home. Hence the short quote at home.
Swansea, they have only lost three of the last 11 away and those were two top four teams in the division. The value pick, I think in the outrights is the draw at 9/2 and in terms of goals, it's around 8/15 for over 2 1/2 goals that would have landed in seven of the last eight Bournemouth home games and six of the last seven Swansea away games over 3 1/2 goals looks likely too at around 5/4 that can be had. The last three head to heads have seen four or more goals scored. Two of the last three Bournemouth home games as well, and five of the last seven Swansea aways
For a bigger price pick. It's five to two for both teams to score in the second half, which has landed in the last two head to heads and five of the last seven Swansea away games.
