There’s a few 5th tier sides not in action as they are still in the FA Cup.
But there's some interesting National League games taking place and the first one sees Hartlepool United against Oxford City.
Hartlepool have had a really disappointing couple of weeks and it all culminated in the departure of John Askey.
Lenny Lawrence is the caretaker manager. He has plenty of experience and I've got a feeling that they will be getting back to winning ways. They're taking on an Oxford City side who are in the drop zone. It has to be said that would have been the expectation at the start of the season and they are in a real fight to stay up this campaign, so they'll be pleased with how it's going. But I do think Hartlepool will be able to gain advantage with the home support there as well and gain what would be an important three points as they look to move away from any relegation trouble.
Another game to have a look at and that is Dorking Wanderers going up against Oldham Athletic – The Latics have had a good couple of weeks and they are in great form away from home.
Mickey Mellon has made a big point of it and he knows the importance of gaining another three points. They're taking on a Dorking Wanderers side who had a disappointing result on Boxing Day, but a pleasant surprise a couple of days after that.
They are a team of mixed form it will be interesting to see how they go into this game but I do think Oldham come out on top in this one.
Bromley v Maidenhead sees a team wanting to gain promotion and the home side should be too strong but Alan Devonshire’s Maidenhead always have a knack of getting results but I do think it will be Bromley who have the real momentum behind them, who are able to gain the 3 points.
So to sum it up, I'm saying Hartlepool United get back to winning ways and it will be 3 points for both. Oldham Athletic away from home and Bromley as well in the National League this weekend.
