Sunday’s FA Cup 3rd Round Tips with David Easson
I’m starting with Peterborough v Leeds partly because I think this may be a potential shock on the day but I just cannot see this not having LOADS of goals. It’s always Posh that get involved in games with goals and this season that has continued. They have more than enough to earn a replay at Elland Road out of this.
Peterborough are one of the most in-form League One sides and Leeds are poor away from home, winning just one of their last 5 away. The Posh are unbeaten in their last 10 matches – in fact they have shot into League One promotion contention following just one defeat in 19 matches.
But I’m going all goals. Peterborough were on a five-match winning run until consecutive 2-2 home draws – then they beat Derby 3-2.
Leeds have 2 wins in 6 with away defeats at Sunderland, Preston and West Brom. Here they are without the suspended Illan Meslier as well as several injured first teamers.
I can’t put you off the shock but for the treble I’m going Both To Score and over 2.5 goals at 11/10
To the cross-border derby of sorts in Shropshire where Wrexham of League 2 travel to Shrewsbury of League One. Yes we all know the Dragons love a bit of drama and many a goal, but so do the hosts. Whether Wrexham winning here would be a shock? Well… yes, probably. But I still think they’ll do it and with a few goals in the game. Shrewsbury have seen BTTS in 4 of their last 5 home matches, with it occurring in 4 of Wrexham’s last 6. Shrewsbury’s last 5 at home have gone over 2.5 goals, whoile so have 7 of Wrexham’s last 9.
This one should be fierce and should be goals.
Wrexham and over 3.5 goals is 9/2
Finally to Luton v Bolton. Again it’s a tempter for a shock with the Hatters very much concentrating on staying in the Premier League. So do they try and get a valuable win for confidence or rest a few with one eye on the league? That’s where they might come unstuck.
Bolton are scoring goals in League One and have won four on the spin. There is something in this for Bolton, that’s for sure. Luton have scored in all but one of their league games this season, but they leak at the back and I think Wanderers get at least a goal. Both the score has landed in 6 of Luton’s last 7. Bolton haven’t conceded in their last 3 league games, but this is a stiffer test – even if Luton were still in the Championship they are a higher level.
I reckon the Hatters do this but they do concede a goal.
Luton and both to score is 3/1 and that’s a 38/1 treble
