Europa League Thursday Betting Preview
Betting Radio’s David Easson, Jon Driscoll and Gavin Hamilton look ahead to Thursday’s Europa League action.
Let’s look ahead to the Europa League action on Thursday night and the first game is Union St Gilloise v Liverpool and we don’t expect a strong Liverpool team in this one.
Jon Driscoll: Yes the story of the Premier League this season has been one of chaos and injury. Liverpool are the sixth different side to top the league but their games recently have been bizarre, you know and ragged at times, but they they've come through them. So that's why they currently sit top of the league. They've got to rotate. There are a couple of players that Klopp will want to give some time on the pitch too, but I think there's a strong possibility he will put some very young players out there. USG are a good team in Belgium and they need the result – They need to win so straight forward and then hope that the other game in the group goes their way as well so their equation is very simple. Liverpool have got a lot of thoughts going on and a lot of things to consider with, you know, huge game at the weekend. So everything tells me that Liverpool might not have their mind on the job. They will have some young lads out there, so if you get a half decent price on USG to win this game, which is what they need then take it.
Dave Easson: And you can have approaching 2/1 in places. The other big game in the evening kick offs is Marseille against Brighton at the Amex Gavin Hamilton this as I see it was 2-2 last time.
Gavin Hamilton: Brighton need to win though to top this group – AEK Athens and Ajax are out of it in that sense and it's been a really exciting because I think we all expected Ajax to do a lot better than they have done, but that's it's made for a a really interesting group and Brighton have had a great run and they will be happy I think with second place, but they will go for it. They don't know any other way to do it. They've been goals throughout the group stage for them, but Marseille have also been banging them in. I mean they scored it was 4-3 Ajax on Match Day 5.
Pierre Emerick Aubamayang has been in sensational form, scored a hat-trick against Alex in in in that game on in the previous round and he scored six goals in the last four games. He scored twice at the weekend for Marseille so there will be goals in this game for both sides
Whether or not Brighton can pull of a victory I’m not too sure but I think Aubmayang to score anytime or first goal at 8/1 looks good to me.
Dave Easson - And a fair price anytime as well, 23/10 anytime – We will keep an eye on all those selections and best of luck with your bets on Thursday.
