Okay, we're getting ever closer to the Christmas period. And that means matches at this moment in time are absolutely crucial as teams look to build some momentum ahead of those festive fixtures, and also have a squad that can challenge for promotion or challenge to stay up depending on where you are in the table going into the January transfer window when reinforcements can be brought in.

So some big games taking place up and down the country in the EFL this weekend. And I've got an EFL treble for you one from each division, the Championship League One and League Two and let's start with the championship where Preston face Watford at Deepdale. And for me, this is a game where both teams are going to score Preston have conceded 17 goals already at home this season. Now only Huddersfield and Blackburn have conceded more goals on home soil than Preston throughout the entirety of the championship campaign. And from our tendency of both teams scoring well that's happened in nine of their 11 games at Deepdale already so they do know where the back of the net is, or at least they thought they did. There was a recent streak of three games without scoring for Ryan Lowe's side but they then put three past Huddersfield in midweek a three one victory in that one Ryan Lowe saying his side were excellent from start to finish. The only issue is they have only kept one clean sheet in their last six games. So you can see that goals are coming to both ends of the field. And the same is happening for what for both teams have scored in their last four matches. Now Valerian Ismail is struggling to keep them out at one end but he is getting goals at the other end only two clean sheets in their last 10 away games. That's not a good run for Watford and no clean sheets in their last five home or away. I think both teams to score in this one between Preston.

Now let's move into League one. Where Barnsley face Charlton two former Premier League sides and a really interesting clash here both of the sides desperate to get back up into the championship, but both of them outside the playoff places at the moment. It's seventh against tenth in the table and once more, I'm expecting goals in this fixture, Barnsley managed by Neil Collins, four of their last five games across all competitions, have seen both teams score and they've actually netted in 12 of their last 13 fixtures Home and Away as well, which is a pretty good record. At home. They're pretty good and score at Oakwell as well. 13 matches there this season and only one of them have they failed to score in those matches. So this is across all competitions by the way, not just League One and seven of those matches have seen both teams score both teams scoring, by the way, something that tends to happen in Charlton matches as well. They played 19 matches in League one this season 14 of those have seen both teams score, so roughly 75% and 14 out of 19.

Seeing both teams score is a joint high for League One at this stage of the season. So they're scored at one and they're struggling to keep them out at the other. Same thing happens in a weight game six of their eight away games, including the last four, have seen both teams score at one one at Carlisle and two, two at Portsmouth, by the way, that last two away games, so both teams scoring in a game that is finished, as a draw, Michael Appleton came in in September, they were in a bit of trouble at that point. And he and his team have failed to score in two of their 13 league games since he took charge. So you can see that both of these teams know where the back of the net is, but their defences can tend to be a little bit brittle, Barnsley against Charlton and both teams to score in that one.

And finally, let's move down into League Two on where to start to the season as a start. We're in December it's not really a start anymore Is it but what a run Barrow have been on under Pete Wild now they have moved up to third place in the table after winning their last five league games in a row keeping three clean sheets during that period.

It really has been a fantastic run a form and they haven't played in the third tier since 1969/70. But currently, currently, they've got a lot of very good teams below them in the table, including the likes of Mansfield and Notts County who were very hotly tipped to be in the promotion race, but at the moment are below Barrow in the table, they are as well, by the way unbeaten, Holker Street, winning five of their nine games there and conceding just five goals. So a pretty formidable record then for Swindon, to try and break now Swindon, Swindon away from home this season, just do not know how to keep the back door shut. 28 goals conceded in their away games this season, which is the most in League Two as you might expect, and only two victories from their 12 away matches as well drawing five and losing five the most recent of those matches for Michael Flynn's inside a four nil demolition at the hands of Wimbledon last week, and they've fallen out of the playoff picture as a result, and just two wins in their last 11 games across all competitions, Swindon are not in good form Barrow are and I'm predicting that there'll be a home win in this fixture. So just to run you through that treble again. We've got Preston against Watford, both teams to score in that one. Barnsley against Charlton, both teams are scoring that as well. And then Barrow against Swindon and predicting a Barrow home win
