Yes we all know about Aston Villa’s home form – that’s 12 wins in 13 home games this season - but a win against Sheffield United would make it 10 unbeaten in the league and that form has taken them right to the top. A win here would put them top of the Premier League and at the near-halfway point of the season that must be respected.
I really cannot see Sheffield United withstanding a home Villa charge, the sort that obliterated Man City and swept aside Arsenal but will those wins have taken their toll? We may have thought that at Brentford but yet again they stayed in the game and won it late on.
The Blades have lost four of their last five games and have scored just two goals in the process – and while they do have a new manager and who knows what this week training with Chris Wilder and his staff will have done to them, it won’t fix the huge issues they have or make any injured players suddenlt start running again.
With Sheffield United losing to nil in three of their last four, you’d have to say Villa to nil is the standout at Evens, but you could put Villa on the -2 handicap in there at the same price – while there’s been red cards in each of the last 2 meetings. It’s 4/1 for a sending off here.
