Tuesday’s Carabao Cup Quarter Finals Preview
David Easson

Everton have won their last four matches and haven’t conceded a goal in any of them and that’s why I’m tipping them to easily overcome a Fulham side who despite their free-scoring form have conceded ten goals in their last three away games.

In fact the Cottagers’ only win in their last nine away games was at Ipswich in the last round of the Carabao Cup. Now the Carabao Cup may not be high on Everton’s list of priorities but think again. Sean Dyche’s side are on the up and the ten point deduction has already been covered. Dyche is working miracles so well that even Dominic Calvert-Lewin is staying fit.

It may not be to nil but the Blues get this done in normal time and I reckon a semi-final awaits. If Dyche can
win them some silverware they’ll name the new stadium after him. And Everton SHOULD be looking to win this trophy every season.

EVS is a great price.

Far simpler should be Middlesbrough win on the road at Port Vale. It has – as you’d expect – been a Valiant run to the quarter final for Vale, but it ends heer and Boro love an away win this season.
17/20 is certainly one for the treble but I’ll add the -1 handicap into it to boost the odds (that’s 2/1)

A trickier tie is the one at Stamford Bridge with Newcastle getting 2 players back from injury in Isak and Trippier but losing two more in Schar and Joelinton. Having gone out of Europe and struggling off the pace in the league, does another Carabao Cup run entice Eddie Howe’s men? And do Chelsea care enough about this or any game? Newcastle’s away form plus their injuries puts me off them but they’ll have a huge away following here and I think they stay in the game against a Chelsea side who I wouldn’t trust at all.
The 3/1 draw is a stand out.

And that treble is 23/1
